Advantages: Doesnt take that long

Disadvantages: Can become sea sick

Amsterdam from Newcastle is a route taken by sea. Leaving from the port of the tyne, it takes only a couple of days to get to Amsterdam and you can spend some time at seas streching your sea legs. You can travel this route, with P & O cruises, who operate this route about twice a week, usually leaving midday, and arriving back in the city some time after early evening.

These ships are huge which you consider the short route that you are taking, and there is plenty of space on board so you wont feel as if you are crowded. In addition to this, there are loads of cabins on these ships, you not only do you travel on this ship, but you also sleep onboard as well. You will depart from the port of tyne, which is a little outside of the city centre, and getting a taxi from the centre to the port wont cost you that much, and you can also get public transport a lot cheaper, but you will need to consider any luggage that may have.

I love this route and I think that it makes a perfect short break away from your home life. I have done three times now, and generally, I have enjoyed it very much.

Summary: Good trip
