Before I begin, I should say that ÖBB is an Austrian, not Australian, rail company! Austria is a country that I first fell in love with during my year abroad, in 1997/98, and during this time I travelled extensively, racking up some 34,000 km by train over the year (that's twenty two thousand miles!) most of which were within Austria. The reliability of the train service was what allowed me to travel so much whilst not having to spend that much on train tickets. First of all I have a confession.
