Big Thieves. When I made the online resevation, it was $50 and said that the amount due was zero. However when I rented the car, I had to pay another surcharge of $45. The rental agency told me that it was because I had used autoeurope to book the car. They said that it would not have been the case if I had booked directly through them (and would have costed me $70).... So I ended up paying a lot more for no good reason.... AutoEurope are definitely the best of the best. I went to mainland Europe for a two week holiday last year to visit my family again and since I took a lot of presents along (and also intended to bring a sack full of things back over) I decided to go by car, rather than fly. I rang around and checked the official web sites of about a dozen big car rental companies (incl. Sixt, Budget, Alamo, Europe Car etc.) and the best quote I could find for a 14-day-all-inclusive-rental to the mainland for a Mondeo-size car was from Europe Car at around £450.
