We had to take the car into have it’s MOT service and it was out of action for a day or so, and a day was enough to appreciate how good it is to have your own transport. I had a dental appointment about two or three miles away, it’s a 10 minute journey in the car maximum.
So, I had to wait to catch the Bus, I thought I would go early just in case the Bus would come early and I didn’t want to miss it.

I stood at the bus shelter for ten minutes, then 15 minutes and 30 minutes past, I was getting late for my dentist appointment, I was quite upset at this moment. It was raining and I had got wet. When the bus came 20 minutes late I was just relieved.
I stepped onto the bus, and I saw this rather unfriendly voice, call out the fair in an abrupt voice…..is it me or do I expect everyone to be nice.

It was quite early in the morning, and the back was full of school kids, they were rowdy but I didn’t mind I can remember we used to be the same. However, when they started to smoke and then flicked their cigarette in a old woman’s direction, I wasn’t impressed. I would have got up and give them a mouth full but I thought a stern look would be enough. They sat back and were quite for the rest of the journey.

Having reached the dentist 15 minutes late, I was just happy to get here. But, luckily punctuality wasn’t there thing and they were still busy with another patient.
Having had my dentist appointment over and done with, it was another journey home on the bus. I thought I would catch the bus that just goes round (circular) bus they are quite small but really comfortable. I was surprised to see it come only 5 minutes late, and when I stepped on there was a very kind looking man, and he was quite pleasant……even better. It was no longer loud but quiet and it too less than 10 minutes to get home.

It just dawned on me that I had such a smooth ride on a Bus, my
earlier experience on the way forgotten and I was quite happy.
I don’t use public transport that much but if the service was punctual, pleasant then I would. Sometimes if we go into the city centre we find it so difficult to find a place to park and if the bus service was good it would be a good alternative.

If you aren't already, you should be writing best sellers and getting very rich. Excellent op.
My local bus service seems dangerous; drivers go too fast for me (Stagecoach and McEwan); there have been one or two accidents. Mr Brian Souter of Stagecoach, are you listening?

I have had a bit of a mixed time with the bus service.I have had to use buses a lot as I have no transport of my own.I have had some particularly terrible times (it's funny how they're always late when you have an important appointment isn't it?)On the whole the service is functional rather than exceptional.Good opinion,Alex:)
