Advantages: Cheaper than Hertz, Alamo and the others

Disadvantages: None

As far as I am concerned, Enterprise Rent-A-Car are "kings of the roads". The hire company is long-established and has competitive prices, as well as being based throughout the UK. I have no qualms about renting with Enterprise when I need to hire a car.

Their competitive prices are perhaps best illustrated when hiring to young drivers. Normally, the likes of Hertz and Alamo will stick a huge premium on under 25s. Though Enterprise will up the price marginally, it will most certainly not break the bank. You are still looking at about £25 a day for a 22 year old driver in an economy vehicle.

The range of vehicles is generally very good with a Toyota Yaris or a Ford Ka being typical of the cheapest model they offer. Be warned, these are also the most popular so be sure to book as far in advance as possible.

Staff are generally young and friendly and they did not seem overly concerned with a car I brought back with a huge cigarette burn on the back seat. They brushed off my apologies and even offered me a loyalty card for my long-standing service.

They also offer cheap prices on taking cars from one location to another. I once hired a Vauxhall Astra to drove from Glasgow Airport to Bristol Airport. The daily price was less than £50.

Summary: An affordable alternative to the other firms
