This was our first trip through the Channel Tunnel, and we had absolutely no idea what to expect. We had opted to board one of the early morning trains, which were cheaper than the rest of the day, so when we arrived at the terminal it was very quiet. Reaching the first booth we discovered we needed either the receipt for pre paid tickets or to ... Read the complete review

The Eurotunnel is referred to by many names, including the Channel Tunnel and the train is referred to as the Eurostar. This epic engineering project was completed about twelve years ago and links the United Kingdom to mainland Europe. I have used the Eurostar many times, mostly to Paris but also to Brussels. Speed, compared ... Read the complete review

As a reasonably frequent visitor to mainland Europe I have crossed by various means that strip of water that to Europhiles like me is just an inconvenience and which to Europhobes like just about anyone in UKIP is the last bastion against the end of civilisation as we know it (The English Channel – La Manche - whatever). Since the coming of ... Read the complete review

The UK and French governments have divided the operation into 3 main parts & given each to a different operator. 1. Eurotunnel who are the operators who control the trains. 2. Le Shuttle the name of the train service between Folkestone & Calais. 3. Eurostar the train service between London & Paris - ... Read the complete review

***A dream was born*** Stepping back to a time when Bonaparte had finished battling and was just establishing peace with the British, a visionary dream was born. A dream that would continue, fading in and out of realistic possibilities for nearly two centuries. It was in 1802 that a french mining engineer first documented ... Read the complete review

I've used Eurotunnel a few times, and considering Eurotunnel run the whole Channel Tunnel, they're not as punctual as they should or could be. I get the impression that they let third parties through the tunnel first when there's any kind of delay, which includes the likes of Eurostar and freight trains. Eurotunnel probably do this ... As a weekly user since more than 5 years my opinion has some value. Where do you see a service where staff keeps talking to anxious car passengers for the full 35 minutes the crossing takes? Where do you have toilets cleaned every 35 minutes on trains? In the double deck part of the shuttle you have them on each deck each 3 ... Read the complete review

Eurotunnel - it sounded so good, didn't it? Now the majority of opinions on Eurotunnel on this site give it 5 stars - the odd one giving it 3, and then one giving it 2. That guy's opinion didn't get a good reception, mainly because he didn't show enough points for not using Eurotunnel. I'm here today to give you the minus ... Read the complete review

Having no sea legs at all - I feel queasy at the sight of a boat other than one firmly anchored in a millpond - I am a keen advocate of Le Shuttle. I have made numerous journeys through the tunnel, ever since it opened, for day shopping trips to the north coast of France. I have also had numerous, queues, delays and cancellations for ... Quite simply this is the best way to get across the channel. Ok, you pay for it. Round about £300 for a summer crossing in a standard car, when you could get a ferry for maybe £200. But, you can get 10% off immediately if you join the Points Plus scheme (at a cost of £10). So what do you get for this extra outlay? Well, lets see. ... Read the complete review

This opinion is on the Le Shuttle service operating between Dover and Calais. There are two services that operate through the Eurotunnel (or Channel Tunnel), the Eurostar and Le Shuttle. The Eurostar is a passenger service operating between London Waterloo and Paris or Brussels and Le Shuttle (it may be called Eurotunnel now, but it says Le ... Read the complete review

I find the EuroStar a highly acceptable mode of travel, but what about the security aspect? The Channel Tunnel has got to be a prime target for a terrorist attack and I can't help thinking back to my last journey on the EuroStar. It was a Saturday morning at Waterloo, and the check-in area was mobbed. We went through the ticket ... Read the complete review

We have used the Eurotunnel trains several times now to travel to France & onto Belgium. When visiting our friends in Antwerp it takes us just 4 1/2 hours from door to door as we live in Kent. Our 3 small children really enjoy the journey as it is quick, taking only 35 minutes & they think fun as the car goes on the train too! ... Read the complete review

We went by Eurostar on our recent trip to Paris. It was more convinient,as I need a fair amount of leg room being disabled. We booked our train tickets at the same time as our hotel, and agreed to pay £39 extra each to upgrade to first class. (At our travel agents suggestion). When, we got onto eurostar the first thing I noticed ... Read the complete review

On a recent business trip to France we decided to try the alternatrive of driving and using the tunnel. Normally we would have driven to a London airport, waited, flown, got a hire car, driven etc - around 6 hours to a town 2 hours from paris. And we would have paid per person. Autoroute said that it would take a bit longer using the tunnel, ... Read the complete review

eurotunnel treat you like cattle !! the ferry is so much better than this pathetically run anglo french garbage. sure its quick ( 35 mins from platform to platform) but when we used it last time, they cancelled our train, and we were made to sit outside for 45 mins in the red hot midday sun! sure we went into the terminal to do some shopping, ... We have travelled over to France using Eurotunnel many times since it opened and never had any delays. However in April, we had a three hour delay because of a broken down train stuck in the tunnel that needed to be removed. The car park was filled to overflowing, but once the problem was sorted, we were quickly on our way. Eurotunnel must now be the first chocie for motoring to France. Its all so easy. Book in advance or just turn up and go. Off peak you can often just arrive and go on the next train...sometimes in 20 minutes. The loading process is very unhurried and relaxing. Just trundle onto the train, switch off and litterally lie back while you ar ... Read the complete review

We have travelled on Eurotunnel over a dozen times now, and it is our first choice to cross the channel every time. We first tried it because my husband gets sea sick, but it is such a good way to travel, we would now choose it anyway. It is very quick and easy compared to the ferrys. The journey time is only 35 minutes, and loading and ... Read the complete review
