ABOUT BIRKA & WHERE THEY GO --------------------------- Birka Cruises operates the Birka Princess ship between the Stockholm and Mariehamn in Åland, and has been doing so since I was born in 1971 (giving my age away here). Åland is an island part way between Sweden and Finland, the entire trip takes normally just 24 hours. These mini-cruises operate all year round with crossings 7 days a week, with a few exceptions.
