Advantages: cheap (ish) to use
Disadvantages: not enough on route and can be very busy
So here is my review on The First Group bus service who operate public transport round the UK. I use their service every day, twice a day, to and from work, I catch two buses to work and two home which I find to be an absolute nightmare!!
Cleanliness: In general I find them fairly clean and tidy, maybe a few scattered Metro Free Paper's knocking about but on the whole pretty good, normally better in the morning with the obvious litter left throughout the day building up.
Tickets: I always buy a first weekly ticket (currently £15.50) for unlimited use which I find good value but if you buy a separate ticket for each journey it would work out fairly expensive, the minimum charge is about £1.50 to go sometimes 2 stops down the road.
There are a couple of problems I have, one is there are not enough buses on the route, some mornings you have to wait over 25 minutes from one to the next, although, other mornings 3 may turn up at once, when they do turn up they may be full, especially with school kids which leads onto my next problem, Music on a mobile phone being played full volume, no-one, apart from the kids, want to here that music!!
Summary: not amazing but when its your only form of transport you have to use it.
