I've decided to stop using the Gatwick Flyer. I've used it more than 20 times in the last four years but it's no longer the service it was. Last time I used it we were at Thurrock for almost forty minutes waiting for another minibus to join us. Why couldn't they have picked us up a bit later? When we did finally set off for Gatwick the driver drove as if he was on a promise. The leg room is awful - worse than any charter aircraft. I'm only 5ft 4in and I was cramped. How on earth does anyone tall manage?
I've just been looking on the website and see that there's a surcharge of £10 per person for using the "service" on Christmas Eve!!!!! How can they possibly justify that - especially in the present economic climate - as anything other than pure greed? Christmas Eve is a Wednesday - they won't be paying their drivers overtime. Disgraceful!
