Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Too Many to mention
I have just read the review by aefra and It is my opinion that she either owns the company or works for it (Why else would you have a picture of their minibus?). My wife and I had the misfortune of using the Gatwick Flyer for our honeymoon and unfortunately they made it a honeymoon to remember for all the wrong reasons. Firstly we were left waiting for over an hour and a half at a bus stop at 3 o'clock in the morning in sub-zero temperature. After ringing and ringing the emergency mobile number we were told the minibus was on his way but had hit traffic? Funny that the roads were empty and only 3 cars had passed us all morning. Half an hour later the Gatwick flyer minibus did appear but just carried on past us ignoring me waving him down in the middle of the road. Now very cold and very annoyed I called the idiot on the emergency mobile who said he would send a minicab. The minicab driver turned up and informed me that they were always getting called to bail out stranded customers because Gatwick Flyer and Avon Coaches were so badly run and dis-organised. He then informed us that we had to pick another stranded customer up from Rainham (miles away) and he woud then be dropping us off at Thurrock services where we would be picked up by coach. Anyway after eventually getting to our destination to start our honeymoon highly stressed, I then came down with a bad cold for the first week due to standing at that bus stop stranded. Two weeks later we were at Gatwick waiting for the return flyer (which was late) and got on board a small cramped minibus which you could only get your legs in the seats if you were 6 years old. After the neanderthal driver finally ugged and manged to count to 16 he told one couple that they couldn't get on for some reason. We then commenced about 3 miles down the motorway with the driver talking on his mobile swerving about when he turned around and said that we had to go back to Gatwick to pick up the couple
he had refused. We got back there and the couple were no where to be seen. 20 minutes later the couple appeared and we were on our way again. An Hour later we pulled into Thurrock services and met with another minibus full of suffering customers, it was then that we were told that we would be swapping busses as they juggle the people depending on the destinations. (We were not informed of this procedure when we booked but it is apparently the norm) The drivers had taken about 40 minutes working out who was taking who and at the end of it we were on a bus with people from basildon and places further a field. We lived in Romford and were told we were the last drop off which would have been about another hour and a half. That was the straw that broke the camels back. We just got of and rang a Taxi to pick us up from Thurrock services. We called Gatwick Flyer and asked for a refund which they refused. They ruined our honeymoon and turned out to be the most incompetent dis-organised company I have ever had the mis-fortune to deal with, and their customer services were no better. I warn you all to beware using them. Yes they are cheap but above tells you why. I recommend paying a little extra and using alternatives, it's not worth the upset and having your holiday ruined when you've saved all year for it. Yes there are other positive reviews on here but who knows who wrote them, and do you want to risk being one of the ones who has their hols ruined.

- 05/03/05 Used Gatwick Flyer ourselves a couple of years ago. Absolutely no problem apart from being last drop off on way home - far easier than having to worry about driving after being cramped on a plane with no sleep. I'd recommend Gatwick Flyer to anyone! I would say that anyone with a bad experience was very unlucky!

- 07/01/05 Hi all, I've not been on here for a while and just looked at this post. It was nearly 2 years ago but I still vividly remember being left standing at the bus stop in the early hours! Even in 10 years time I still wouldn't give them another chance!
