SugarSpun Transport in Munich: ... MVV, Munich s public transport network, includes buses, trams, an underground network and suburban rail network. It s divided into 16 rings and 4 zones. For tourists, the first thing to think about is normally how to get out of the airport. The S-Bahn (suburban rail) is normally the best way to do this. Trains run every five or so minutes, and for a trip to the city centre it s best to buy a Gesamnetz ticket (co...

... s been almost a year now since I had the Viking Line Experience, and so things may have changed slightly, but I ll fill you in on what was certainly a trip to remember. There are a few ferry operators who serve between Finland & Sweden; however, Viking Line is the company most people will choose to go with. My friend and I were greatly impressed with the service when we went to the Turku office, which was easily located within one of the main shopping malls in the centre. Not only did they secure us a place with very little notice, but they also got us great rates with our inter-rail tickets, I m afraid I can t remember the exact price but it was no more than 15 E...

... run a ferry from Tallinn to Stockholm and back. I used it one April and found the service to be both well priced and comfortable. I found the ticket office in central Stockholm easy to find and getting to the port wasn t particularly tricky, the boat from Stockholm leaves in the afternoon, at around 16.00 as I remember, the first few hours of journey is really pleasant as you travel between lots of little forested Swedish islands. The arrival in Estonia is less glamorous but still quite nice, the route to the port is devoid of islands but the coastline actually looks rather similar. There are plenty of photo options and it s an enjoyable journey if the weather...

... vision took place in black and white and amidst steam and whistles (think The Lady Vanishes, The 39 Steps or Brief Encounter) Could the reality ever live up to my ideal? What is the City Night Line? =============================== This is a service operated by Deutsche Bahn that runs through Europe, connecting cities in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Italy. The service operates specially designed trains incorporating couchettes and sleeper cabins as well as seats and (apparently) cushioned axles for a smooth ride, and therefore a good night s sleep. Why Did We Choose the City Night Line? ===========...
