Very cheap, reliable and efficent (Greyhound Australia)

The Greyhound is a fantastice bus service which covers the whole of Australia.
I have recently returned from six months backpacking in Australia and found the Greyhound to be extremely reliable, cheap and overall just a fantastic service.
You can buy various tickets and it is worth looking into what one would be best for you. For example, you could get just a single or return to one destination, or buy one for a certain amount of kilometers which is valid for about 6months. I also bought one which went from Cairns to Sydney and was valid for 6 months. With this ticket i could stop off anywhere i wanted and hop on whenever there was a bus free. Because the network was so large it was so easy to ensure i had a bus ready for when i needed it, you simply book it up through the internet or phoning them up.
Compared to other companies you could just tell this was better. You hear of stories of people ending up stranded in destination because the next free bus isnt for days-this does not happen with the Greyhound. The even deliver parcels across the country!
The busses themselves are sort of like day trip busses in Engalnd, only better. You will usually get one with a TV and depending on the driver they will put on films for you to pass the journey, some like to give a bit of information on the areas etc, it just depends on the driver. The busses are very comfortable too, i had a 28hour journey and it flew by, i dont usually sleep very well but managed to get a good night in the bus!
Overall a very efficent service, rather unlike public transport in England.

Summary: I cant reccommend this enough to get you around Australia.
