Holiday Auto is one of the largest car rental brokers.

You can rent a car from them either by phone or going tot heir website.

Since I have a friend who works in a travel agency in London and they work with Holiday Auto, when I decided to go to Alicante in Spain for 6 days, I asked him to contact Holiday Auto.

We got a car like a Golf (They do not guarantee the brand, but they guarantee that you will have that car or a car of the same class) for £113, which was a good deal, definitively better than what Avis, Hertz and Euoprentacar had quoted us.

We were given a voucher to give to their representative at the airport.

When we arrived at the car rental desk in Alicante, we had to wait for 10 minutes because there were only 2 clerks and 3 people ahead of us, including 2 being served.

Staff was quick, and helpful, although their English was just fine.

Although Holiday Auto had told us that "pending availability" we would get an upgrade, their local representative was reluctant to do so. It was November, not a busy season, and we asked them if this was because they were short of cars. They told us, they were not, but there were more flights on that day coming from Germany and they wished to be well stocked!

The car was a Golf, it was clean, but scrathed on the passenger front door, and with a small bump on the back.

It had 34,000 km on the clock and was air-conditioned. It was a diesel version with fitted radio. It run smoothly and proved to be not too expensive in terms of km per litre.

When we returned the car at the airport, in 3 minutes we had our copy of the ocntract back and no hassle at all.

In conclusion, this being my 1st experience with them, I am happy to recommend them and I will definitively will give them a go again the future. The only thing I was partly unhappy with, was the fact that it was our understanding an upgrade would be given to us as lo
ng as a car was there at the airport, which was the case. As mentioned earlier, though, "subject to availability" proved to be prone to different interpretations.

you have actually reviewed the car hire company more than holiday autos here. Holiday autos are only the broker....
