This is the cheapest company that we found for a hire of a camper van, picking up in Auckland and dropping off in Christchurch. We hired a 2 berth camper van, with just one driver insured on there.

This company has a wide range of camper vans and cars for hire whilst in New Zealand. We researched the cheapest company for the camper that we'd need picking up and dropping off in different places and this, we decided, was the one for us - for the price and the discounts they offer. They give you a range of 2 for 1 vouchers and also run a happy hour via their website for when you book giving you an even cheaper price.

Before picking up the camper van we were stopping in a hostel in Auckland, rather than picking the van up straight away. This made made really easy as Jucy picked us up from our city centre accommodation and took us to their depot - very handy as I think it would have been a bit of a pain to try and find the way there ourselves.

Upon arrival we'd already checked in - as you can do this online just to save time when you pick up the vehicle. The staff at Jucy then do a check on the vehicle with you, marking where there's any scratches or other damage for when you drop it off. They also do this check when you drop the vehicle off.

I must say that I cannot comment highly enough on the team at Jucy - mainly at the Auckland office. We had several problems with the van upon pick up (this being 6 hours late), then problems that we had to return to base with and make a long phone call prior to this. The wasn't anything that they could contraol - it was just that the van was too new! The staff there couldn't have done anything else regarding there problems and did their upmost to compensate us for this, including giving us a hire car on the first day. I've not gone into the problems as they are far too long!
