Atlanta is like most US Cities I've visited, where the car is king and everyone is supposed to have one. The public transport system consists of cabs, buses and a simple two-line light railway called MARTA, the Metro Atlanta Regional Transport Authority. The north-south line links the airport in the south with residential areas in the north, travelling underground through downtown and out again to midtown areas, where the swish shopping malls are. On the way it passes by the Atlanta Braves baseball stadium - this was the main site for the 1996 Olympics, but there is little sentiment in corporate USA and that stadium was torn down immediately after the ...
