“ Turkish Bus Company. „
Anyone who has travelled by the big express buses in Turkey will know they are in for a bit of a treat. Comfort is the name of the day with nice soft seats, air conditioning (not necessary in the winter obviously), friendly staff serving up tea and coffee and plying you with cologne frequently.
No bus is comfortable to sleep on but Turkish ones tend to come close. A company I'd recommend are Metro Turizm, one of the biggest companies that consist of 10% of the Turkish buses and service just about every major city, town and resort in the country. I only used the company twice, both times it was on long over night journeys and I managed to make quite a lot of friends as all the locals shared out their food with me and satisfied their curiosity by finding out simple things about me.
The downside of being on a bus full of Turkish is that it's not ideal for light sleepers as they do tend to get a bit noisy, particularly each time the bus stops - its also quite common for kids to sleep on the floor beneath the parents when the bus is full and babies are of course babies.. i.e noisy!
Metro Turizm offer cheap fares, fuel is cheap and tickets across the country are very affordable and if you go to their website, you'll be able to find out the prices between certain locations with the use of a little online turkish-english translator. The website is http://www.metroturizm.com.tr/, clicking the english section won't make you any wiser!
