As I have reviewed quite a few narrowboat hire bases, their boats and the trips you can do from them, here is a piece on narrowboating in general, which I hope will give you the flavour of what it is like, so that you can decide whether to give it a try. When my best friend invited me on a canal boat holiday, I have to admit that I was sceptical. She’d been last year, and I’d heard the story.
