I have started taking this route to get home from the Mainland to Northern Ireland to visit my parents as I passed my driving test and dont like to leave my car alone for a week at a time (sad I know) Well, what can I say about Norse Ferries? Booking - Is pretty simple online, you enter your details and your car details and pay using a credit card - pretty straight forward like buying anything else online, you are then given a reference number which you must print out and bring along to 'check in' with some photographic ID. This boat service went off a couple of years back but about 3 years ago it cam back on. It travels between Dublin-Liverpool and Belfast-liverpool. I use the Belfast-Liverpool service which is a 9 hour jouney. The sailing is nearly always calm and for £10 extra on the price of one of your families tickets you get a cabin, which is really handy for the 9 hour journey. A standard cabins includes 4 beds in the form of 2 bunk beds, a shower, toilet and sink, and a cupboard, there is also a cot for those young children.
