Advantages: Great if you live in Huddersfield

Disadvantages: Most of Yorkshire is not in Huddersfield

One thing that annoys me about Northern Spirit is the lack of a decent late train service. Where I have lived priviously, Welsh Valleys and Essex, I was able to get a train home around midnight (or at least after 11PM). Going back to Kingston-upon-Hull I have to leave Leeds before 10PM, or 9PM from Sheffield. So you can't go anywhere for a night out. Not a good way of discouraging drink driving!

Maybe Sheffield is too Far away but a train leaving Leeds at midnight would get into Kingston-upon-Hull at 1 AM and this isn't too late for rail services in many other parts of the country. What makes it more galling though is that Northern Spirit do have a 24 hour service between York, Leeds, Huddersfield, Manchester And Manchester Airport. Okay I blame Huddersfield when they are just conveniently located along the route but if they are running this service then one late train going to Kingston-upon-Hull is all I ask. There's not much to do in Kingston-upon-Hull for me, yet for others it is the apparently one of the best clubbing places in Northern England. So surely there must be some demand for trains in both directions? I wouldn't even mind if the train went the long way via York.

Basically for East Yorkshire there is no late service from Northern Spirit. This is not good enough, with the amount of money being spent in Kingston-upon-Hull, a new dedicated Hull Trains company running services to London we demand and deserve better.

There you go again - what's wrong with Huddersfield ? Home of Rugby League and Harold Wilson - its a grand place. It gets a decent rail service because its in the middle of the country & not attached to the coast line !! Pah - at least Huddersfield is part of proper Yorkshire - Hull is Humberside !! (Only in jest - you need to write some more opinions!!)
