Advantages: Big groups, you will make firends, helpful and friendly drivers

Disadvantages: More expensive, less busses, less choice of passes

Ok, there doesnt seem to be any information on what OzExperience is, or does, yet is such a big part of many backpackers stories in Australia that I am surprised nobody has actually written about it yet.

Oz Experience is a company which organises day trips, tours, or just general travel to and from destination all throughout Australia. My first experience of this company was a day trip to the Blue Mountains in Sydney. We had to meet up where the bus was, however they do pick you up from your accomadation when doing longer trips, this obviosly meant that it was on time. The bus driver was very friendly and knowledgable, giving us a guided tour of many things that we passed by on our way to the mountains. This was nice as it made us all feel welcome, and travelling alone allowed me to make friends very easily.

The overall trip was run very smooth and was successful. I cannot fault them at all. As I previosly said, they do offer other services, such as taking you from A-B, such as Cairns to Sydney. Now i didnt take this bus for this option for a number of reasons. Firstly, they can be unreliable as they do not have many busses in each location, meaning that unless you book you bus in advance, you could be left in a location longer than expected. The second reason was that it is more of a 'party bus' where they encourage you to mix and personally this isnt for me, i prefered to mix as and when i felt like it.

The cost of the busses are quite expensive too compared to other companies such as the Greyhound. For instance i paid $300 for a pass from Cairns to Syndey, with Oz Experience this would have set me back around $575, so almost double!

Not only this, but the choice of passes are not too great, it is literall from A-B and you can hop off at certain destinations on the way. The greyhound allows you a kilometre pass where you can go in any direction, whcih can be cheaper and more beneficial.

Overall I think that the buses are very nice, and the people who work on them are both very friendly and helpful, you do feel like a tourist on them though. I think that for the money they are a little expensive but then you tend to only go travelling one and want to get it right. This sort of bus would be great for people who enjoy partying and large groups of people, also if you are travelling alone as you meet so many people. For me I am not too outgoing, and therefore this type of bus doesnt really suit me, plus its more expensive and im a scrooge!

Summary: Good way of getting around if you have the money and are more outgoing,if not consider the Greyhound
