Every good story starts at the very beginning, so I guess, if I want this to be a good story I guess I should start at the beginning... ~Mood setting babble~ ...Sunday before last, it was a lurverly sunny day, and we were heading home from boyfies folks in Wiltshire, and we were bitching and moaning about wanting to go on holiday this summer, then no more about it....Until Monday afternoon that is, boyfie had been surfing the web and decided that we should go to France and drive around, stay in some bed & breakfasts, drink wine & eat cheese...sounded like a brill idea, we decided to go that coming Thursday afternoon for a long weekend and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review WAYS TO CROSS No.2. POSH or ORDINARY? (2250 words)

It would appear that this category i.e. P & O Stena lines is now rather out of date. Entering the usual www.posl.co.uk address, finds you automatically rerouted to www.poferries.com, this tending to suggest that the "Stena" branding is now defunct. My review then is of P & O Ferries Dover to Calais service. Ways to cross number 2? Now that our favourite Cross Channel operator, Hoverspeed, has apparently sailed off into the sunset, I guess that really P & O Ferries has taken pole, Number 1 position, or has it? POSH? You probably already know this useless piece of information, but for the few of ...  Read the complete review

P & O Stens Line... I've travelled 3 times on the Dover - Calais Crossing now and 1st time I was a little nervous because I was about 10 and it was quite early in the morning but we went to the very good arcade which I will say has the BEST games around and that kind of chilled me a little, then after that we went up on the deck which had plenty of seats and enough safety rules to last about 3 journeys to read.. most of them were repeated anyway!!! I didn't really want to go by the barriers because I was a little weak-stomached but I will admit it was very, very safe so no-one could really possibly fall overboard. The crossing was fast and soft so it was ...  Read the complete review

The best way to experience the channel! (712 words)

After returning from my holiday in southern France, I had a LONG drive up to Calais, but was rewarded there by the big shopping mally kind of thing, which sells cheap booze and is full of English people! Once you've filled up your car to the fullest, you'll have to travel to the ferry terminal. It's not too far, don't worry. Unless you get stuck on the one-way system, Calais Local Authorities have invested loads into developing quick routes to the Ferry Terminal. (unless you're going through the tunnel, and if you are DON'T! Sure its faster, but what would you rather have, a loo and a light bulb, or a quality, fully lit, smooth and relaxing ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review P&O Stena Line: High Speed Service to Scotland (353 words)

Taking a weekend break to do the Christmas Shopping in Scotland seemed a good Idea and to bring back all the goodies a car is essential, so the choices were 1, Seacat Belfast to Troon. 2, P&O Larne to Cairnryan or the one I choose due to a special offer was Stena Line Belfast to Stranraer on the HSS which takes 110 minutes to cross the Irish Sea. The HSS is a Catamaran in design More than 15 double-decker buses long, twice the width of a traditional ferry, and the size of a football pitch, the Stena HSS is the largest fast ferry in the world. The main benefit of this is in the rough seas of the Irish Sea which can be so rough that the Seacat cannot cross so ...  Read the complete review
