Advantages: relaxing

Disadvantages: school trips.bad weather,old ferry

I have used this crossing many times and really if you want to get to calais from dover there isnt much alternative, only the hovercraft and eurotunnel .. using the ferry can be much more relaxing than the other two, as you can walk about the ferry, get a meal etc etc ... if you are on a nice newer ferry( remember they are running several all the time, so its pot luck which you get on) it can be very relaxing and fun to be on deck and watch england disappear into the distance. The only drawback if you are in a hurry is it is slower than the other two ... the ferry takes one and a half hours compared to about 35mins for the other two.another problem can be if you are unlucky enough to be on a crossing with 15 buses of school kids on a trip!! all of a sudden the relaxed ferry becomes a nightmare, and people are sitting on the floor and steps as there arent enough seats to go round .

Hi there,

I am making a TV programme about customer service for BBC 1 and I’m looking into cross channel ferries. I was wondering if you had any stories to tell about good or bad service you may have received on a ferry trip. I notice that you had posted a review and would love to hear any stories you, or anyone you know have.

Please feel free to email me service@diversebristol.tv

I look forward to hearing from you.

LukeL
