Polskie Koleje Panstwowe (PKP) translates to Polish National Trains and they have the complete control over the Polish train lines, so if you are a visiting tourist or businessman, you are most likely to come into contact with the service. We will stick to the review of their public transport sector as I don't know enough about transporting cargo etc! Poland has a fairly extensive train network (covering 25,000km)and with the exceptions of a few important lines: Warsaw - Krakow, Warsaw-Katowice, Warsaw - Gdansk, Warsaw - Poznan, Poznan - Sublice, the vast majority of the lines are quite slow.
