rosebud2001 Tren de Soller: ... my recent trip to Spain I wanted to spend a day out of Palma Nova and revisit Palma de Mallorca, the capital city of the island of Majorca. However doing anything with my daughter tends to lead to arguments and I have learned over the years that it s usually better to just do things on the spur of the moment otherwise she will dismiss any suggestions with a resounding "no". So I told her we were going t...

They claim their website is: Still the best place to buy your tickets for travel on the East Coast with 10% discount on all First and Standard Advance Fares, plus no postage and no booking fee for all purchases. I quite often use this rail line, either from Newcastle to London or Newcastle to Inverness. The trains are normally quite clean and do run on time. MeganFF Eurostar
... didn t know what to expect from the eurostar when we went to Paris recently. Would it be just like a normal train? A bit more like a plane on wheels? So a little apprehensive, we boarded at St Pancras Station in London. Upon arrival at the station, we had to locate the automatic ticket machine so that our tickets could be produced. LAZYGIRL First Great Western
... am a regular traveller on the First Great Western service from Penzance to London Paddington. I get on at Plymouth and have been travelling this route for the past 4 years every 2 - 3 months. I usually travel on a Friday evening after 4pm and return a Sunday evening or Monday morning. So i travel at peak times which is the worst time to travel on this service. Every time i use this service there are people standing in the aisles. You must made a reservation to enjoy this service (i say enjoy lightly) as it takes 3 and a half hours. So you dont want to start the service standing i promise you. This train i usually 6 or 7 carriages long but this never seems enough seat...
