Advantages: Seats (when you can find any!), Scenery, The trolly (so tired, you'd buy anything!)

Disadvantages: Scruffy toilots, Overcrowding, No one know whats going on

When I went to Devon in June, we had to use Southwest Trains to get to Bristol Temple Meads. We had to book our tickets in advance to get a seat as the congestion on our trains is appalling, and people these days haven’t got any damn manners, as I have found out many times on crowded trains.

We climbed aboard our train and didn’t have any seats anyway as people were sitting in them and had flung our reservation tickets onto the floor. We showed them our tickets to no avail, and were principally told to “£$%^ off! I was clearly struggling up a narrow aisle with luggage, and people were still barging past trying to get from end to end! The oldies always say that we young one’s never show any respect for our elders, well how can we when the older generation are just as bad mannered as the younger one’s?

We got to Bristol temple Meads and tried to find a guard to see if he could help us put us on the right train. One didn’t know, and another put us on the wrong platform; Bristol has a lot of platforms. All in all the service was DISGUSTING!

I think next year I will be taking National Express, as I know I will get there on time with out it being cancelled. I have heard from a friend who works at London Waterloo that the train companies save money by doing everything on the cheap, this also includes (so I’ve heard) maintainment of the breaking system, which they use on the older models of trains. People’s safety should be paramount.

Your comments about "maintainment of the breaking system" (your spelling and grammar not mine) are absolutely slanderous. In any case, Bristol Meads is to my knowledge operated by First Great Western, thus your inability to find a member of staff there to direct you is hardly the fault of SWT. In fact, I'm not entirely sure you didnt actually travel by Wessex Trains and simply bought the ticket in a SWT office.

Sorry for the low rating, but most of your op seemed to be complaining about passengers being rude, which isn't really anything to do with the railway.

If you add some more information (such as punctuality, prices etc), feel free to let me know and I will re-rate.
