Advantages: All Inclusive, 24 hour Dining option, Value for money

Disadvantages: Cabins need upgrading, Deck space inadequate, Insufficient sunbeds/chairs when at sea with full complement of passengers

I am quite sad that the Topaz is soon to leave service with Thomsons. She is a friendly ship and the All Inclusive aspect suits me perfectly! While I can honestly say that the food and entertainment is excellent, I must also point out that the cabin accommodation is merely adequate, and certainly not 5* quality, but then, you get what you pay for! I have sailed on the Topaz twice and both times I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The bliss of no fixed meal sittings and the joy of a 24 hour self service restaurant were important to me since I am not fond of having to be at a specific place at a specific time! You really can 'please yourself'! All in all, I must say that the Topaz is excellent value for your money. My only complaints really are that there is insufficient deck space and not enough sunbeds, particularly during a day 'at sea' and the cabins are really only adequate! But then, who spends a lot of time in the cabin, and I must say they were spotlessly clean!(as was the whole ship) I do hope Thomson will introduce another All Inclusive ship to their program - no shocks when you get your onboard account! Long live Topaz, where or whoever she goes to!
