Advantages: fast, clean

Disadvantages: taxis at night

I'll try on my nexts ops to comment some aspects of my city to be helpful for people thinking about visiting Barcelona.

What do you need to visit Barcelona?:
a transport ticket.

You can buy it on any metro and train station. The T-10 It’s a card that allowes you to use 10 times any transport services on the metropolitan area (Barcelona, Badalona, Hospitalet, Cornellā). This t-10 it’s allowed on bus, metro and train (only zone 1). The cost of the T-10 is about 6€.
You can also use a combination of the transports within an hour without having to pay again, for example, you can use the undergruond and then the bus with the same “ticket”.
There are some other options: For example the T-dia (t-day) that allows you to do an unlimited use of the Barcelona’s transports. The T50-30 (50 times in 30 days), the T-mes (t-mounth) etc etc.
The point is not to buy a single ticket cos they cost 1€ and it meens that with a t-10 you can have 4 free runs.
There are so many kind of transports here on Barcelona, so I'll comment it one by one.

The metro (underground)
-----------------------
There are some aspects that are important to descrive the metro. It’s the fastest way to go to some places of Barcelona, it’s really comfortable and not extremely expensive.
You can go almost everywhere in the city by underground, but you’ll not be able to take it anytime you want for two reasons:
1- It’s impossible to enter into a metro at 8:40 when people are going to work or university etc. It’s easy to see at that hours people with his face stamped on the glasses of the metros’ windows
2- “too late for metro”. On a laborable day the metro runs from 5:00 to 0:00. So it’s impossible, for example, to go to “Maremagnum” to drink something and try to return home by underground.
Anyway It’s my favourite way to g
o by the city.
Metro in barcelona are divided on “lines”. Lines are defined by a number and a color to make it easier to recognise and to familiarizise with the one you’ll use more frequently (it depends of the zone you are living or visiting).
Line 1 – red, line 2 violet, line 3 green, line 4 yelow, line 5 blue and they are constructing a new line that will be number 9.
As a curisoity I’ll tell you that the newest line is number 2!! Cos it was started on 1950’s but never finished. It was finally done in the 90’s.

I'll put here some interesting points of the city with his metro stop that is closer as a guide:
Las ramblas – L3 liceo, catalunya, drassanes – L1 Catalunya
Montjuīch – L3L1 Espanya
Parc Güell – L3 Lesseps
Maremagnum – L3 Drassanes
The beach – L4 Vila olimpica
Sagrada familia – L2 Sagrada familia
FC Barcelona stadium – L3 Les corts.

Autobus (bus)
-------
The bus service in Barcelona is easy to recognise by his red colored buses (but only 1 floor!! hehehe) Any bus have a number to be indetifyed. Numbers go from 1 to 100 on intercity transport and higher numbers when that bus lines go to another close village like StJuan D’espí or St Feliu de llobregat etc.
On night they don’t work. Only a few of this lines have a “night-substitute” that are called “nitbus”. Nit bus are only 14 lines: from N1 to N14 and runs from 23:00 to 5:00.

Train: RENFE
------------
Are the public transport of Spain’s government. The bigger stations on Barcelona are Sants, Catalunya square and Estaciķ de Franįa. You can go from the Airport to Sants by Renfe’s trains.
Renfe is useful to go to Sabadell, Terrassa, Manresa and the cost villages like Sitges, Vilanova, Calafell, Castelldefels…
That train give you to the beach!!

Train: Ferroc
arrils de la Generalitat
-------------------------------------
The trains of the Catalan government. Are a bit more expensive than the RENFE ones (out of the zone 1) but are really new trains and really fast. They are usefuls to go to Tividavo (the oposite hill of montjuīch) and to go to Sarriā (a resident expensive zone of Barcelona).

Taxi
-----
Are the cabs of Barcelona. You’ll identify it cos they are yellow and black with a green light at the top. If the green light is on and the LIBRE is on the frontal panel you can take it. They are really EXPENSIVE!! But are the only way sometimes so they are necessary. It’s really difficult to find a taxi at night… so be patient.
To take a taxi to the airport would cost around 16€.

I'll add more data on next days.
