Advantages: Easy travel - no frills

The trains are comfortable with nice supportive headrests. The carriage was carpeted all over including the aisles and felt very homely and comforting to walk on especially after a day of walking it felt like arriving home. The carpet was a little muddy and the tables were grubby with tea/coffee stains - there was also a lot of rubbish - that said it was the end of a long journey from Galsgow!

The windows were large which made looking out a lot easier. Unlike some trains I have been on the lights have felt dull and have hurt my eyes when I try and read a book the lights on Cross Country (run by VIRGIN) Trains are bright and easy on the eye.

The train turned up on time and got to my destination early. The buffet service was brought around on a cart and was very efficient. The prices were quite expensive though. The staff were very polite and helpful, they were only too happy to assist with any queries.

Each seat has a table and there is a mains plug by the window on every carriage which can be used to charge a phone or laptop. I found this quite convenient and useful as I was making a lot of business calls and I could charge my phone, I will remember my laptop for future journeys.

The train has an electronic reservation service so it is easy to refer to seats to check if they are in use or not. I found this a lot better than looking at little cards slotted into seats. Overall my journey was pleasant and I would travel with them again.
