I travel a lot due to my job, but usually its from the East Midland to the North East, but like most people the occasional trip down south etc for a day out. Because of this i use a lot of train companies too. Virgin trains happen to be one of my regular trains.

Virgin is a massive company, being host to Virgin Media, Virgin holidays, Virgin Active and plenty more franchises; you would think that their train service would be up to standard. One think I have noticed which annoys me, is the fact that I pay £60 just for a 2 hour journey (Nottingham to Yorkshire) yet usually I have to stand up all the way. The carriages are always rammed full, meaning you either have to stand up or sit in the door compartment space right next to the toilet. Is this worth the money if you have to stand up the whole journey? I honestly don't think so. Simple solution is to lower the price or just simply add more carriages. They should of realised this as every journey I take I hear complaints from customers to on board staff. Even though I'm not too keen on this service, there are also some advantages on this train company.

The best things about Virgin Trains are the layout and facilities on board the train. If you do manage to get a seat, you have comfortable chairs, plenty of room with access to a couple of plug sockets for use of laptops or mobile phones. The train is usually kept clean to a high standard. With clean hygienic toilets, there is also an on board shop, selling snacks and drinks.

I would recommend people to use this service but they need to sort the current issue out, as at the minute I'm using Cross Country trains as its more popular in terms of space etc.
