Advantages: Fast Trains, Cheap fares

Disadvantages: Some expensive on the day fares

Virgin Train operate from London Euston to Holyhead / Manchester / Liverpool Lime Street / Wolverhampton / Birmingham New Street / Preston / Carlisle / Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The base service provides 4 trains per hour to Manchester, 2 to Liverpool, 3 to Birmingham New street and wolverhampton and 1 per hour to Glasgow.

Ticket price vary from very cheap £5 single from Birmingham to Coventry to the very expensive £450 Open single London Euston to Glasgow. The trick to getting a cheap ticket is book 28 days or more in advance, pick a train and make sure you board the train you paid to travel on, otherwise you will be taken for the full standard open ticket, the ones that cost £100+

Most Virgin Trains operating out of London Euston have serval crew, these include the driver of course, a Train Manager who is in charge of the train, a chef to provide at seat breakfast / lunch and dinner to 1st class passengers, and four passenger service assistants, who man the shop in standard class, and at seat service to the 1st class passengers.

Journey times to Manchester from London are 70-90 minutes, with Birmingham 55-60 minutes, Glasgow can be reached in a tad under 4hrs.

The trains are all fitted with air conditioning, CCTV, passenger information screens and all seats have drop down tables at every seat or four seats around a table. However some seats are placed right next to a piller, so some seats dont have a window, not very good it your going to Glasgow!.

All in all, the service has been transformed with new titling trains, reduced journey times and cheap fare. A pleasure to travel with.

Summary: A very good travelling experince, much better than flying
