Parking in London is a Nightmare!

Advantages: You don't have to walk as much
Disadvantages: Very expensive
I am a student in London, and live in halls. Parking outside these is very limited as most of the road is reserved for residents. Unfortunately, I do not qualify since I don't spend enough nights here, so the only option for my visitors is to use the metered parking bays (of which there are few) which are restricted to 2 or 4 hours parking, or to park a 10 minute walk away from my house, which is not good if they were bringing something for me, e.g. an ironing board, which is quite awkward to carry! The prices are also rediculous. Outside my house, £1 buys 40 minutes of parking, and the machine only takes coins, which is very frustrating when you only have notes! The car parks in London are no cheaper, either. This only leaves the option of leaving the car and using public transport, which is undoubtably cheaper, but also ,hot, stuffy and cramped.
