History Dover Priory Train Station was first opened on 22 July 1861. It was originally called Dover Town but was renamed Dover Priory in 1863. The name Dover Priory was taken from the remains of St Martins Priory which was situated close to the station. Dover Priory Train Station suffered greatly during the war and was actually the first place in Dover that was bombed. Dover Priory Dover Priory is the only train station in Dover and is located about a 5 minute walk from the town centre of Dover.
