Mega bus-fantastic prices, cramped conditions. (Megabus)

Advantages: very very very cheap.

Disadvantages: very very very cramped.

Its hard to write this review, because there were fantastic things about mega bus, and bloody awful things.

Firstly, it is SO CHEAP.

For a return trip from Leeds to London, for two people, it cost £14.50.

£14.50!

I dont even know how they pay for the petrol at that price.
Considering that was far cheaper than getting the train, or driving, it seemed like a good deal.

We got on the bus tuesday morning at 5.50....which was pretty painful, but ah well.
The bus turned up promptly. The seats were on the small side. I have a fairly large bum, and rather long legs, and I felt a little cramped, both ways. I was also restricted by the chair arm that cut me off from the aisle. if i could have pushed that down, i would have been a little comfier.
I originally put my bag into the overhead compartment, expecting it to be safe. When the can of diet coke that had been in my bag flew out of the compartment, and nearly cracked a bloke in the back of the head, i moved my bag to the floor under my seat...making me even more cramped.

The journey took around 4 1/2 hours, which is pretty quick all things considered, and we had a break halfway, for a ciggy/leg stretch.

The way back was worse.
It was at the later time of 11.30, was again on time, and was again incredibly cramped.
My body was desperatly aching for more room.

it would have been ok, but this time we got no break. No leg stretching, no ciggy.

The journey again only took 4 1/2 hours, but thats just a bit too long with no break in the middle.

all in all, i would have preffered to have driven, but the price was just too good to turn my nose up.

If I travelled on mega bus again, i wouldnt sit next to someone. However anti social, I would have taken two seats all for myself, just so that I could have stretched out a bit.

Summary: incredibly cheap, but not very good if you like your space.
