I have travelled from Bournemouth to London several times on the 'MegaBus' and Megatrain' services, and they are brilliant. Always on time and clean. Much cheaper tickets than thetrainline.com! The Megatrain service is provided by southwest trains and will cost you double if you book through a rail travel site.

I really think Megabus is a brilliant idea, tickets to London from Bournemouth are usually between £8 and £12, which is loads cheaper than tickets offered elsewhere. It's nice to think that the rest of Britain can be more accessible, espeically as a Northerner stuck down in Bournemouth and missing home! I would certainly consider using the service to travel back home to Sheffield! Really we should all see the sites around Britain, and visit our friends more, so I appreciate that Megabus has made this more financially possible for me. Generally I prefer the megatrain service as it's quicker, but the buses are very comfortable. The only thing I would say is that I wish the stops were more clear on the website - for instance I booked the service from Bournemouth Uni to London (as it was the only service advertised) only to then find the bus would also make a stop at Bournemouth train station, which is much closer to my home, and therefore would have been my preferred departure point!
