Premium Review Megabus: mega savings on megabus and megatrain (224 words)

I have travelled from Bournemouth to London several times on the 'MegaBus' and Megatrain' services, and they are brilliant. Always on time and clean. Much cheaper tickets than thetrainline.com! The Megatrain service is provided by southwest trains and will cost you double if you book through a rail travel site. I really think Megabus is ...  Read the complete review

Megabus.com is a very straightforward online bus service site that allows you to book journeys in between the larger cities and towns of the UK at prices many times cheaper than it would cost you to travel by either national express or national rail. For example, you can pick up a single ticket from Newcastle to London for just £16, plus a fifty ...  Read the complete review

Megabus is the company who are ever increasing with their services thanks to the offer of exceptionally cheap travel to a variety of uk destinations. So what is all the fuss about? Despite the raw bums and the lack of leg room, Megabus really is the budget way to travel across the UK. I have had some problems with Megabus in the past (we had to change a bus THREE times during a 12 hour journey - yes, I'm convinced it was a nightmare - you can read it here if you want! [The first coach we were on started making ...  Read the complete review

I travelled from Chester to London on a megabus for approximately £8 which in terms of value for money is spot on. The driver to begin with was pleasant and patient despite having to wait around for several people saying lengthy goodbyes. The seats were standard coach seats, and the toilet was in a good state, which makes a change from most ...  Read the complete review

I am planning to go on a day trip to London in a few weeks with a friend. We wanted a day away that wouldn't cost the earth and so wanted to go somewhere that we could travel too easily and cheaply. Of course, we chose Mega Bus! I use the Mega bus a lot as it is a brilliant way to get to London cheaply and easily. Driving into London is ...  Read the complete review

I seem to be obsessed with finding bargains recently and I am amazed at just how many there are to be found out there currently. One of the things that had been recommended to me recently was megabus.com. I have always booked my journeys via the trainline.com, but had been advised that if you were booking a journey way in advance, you ...  Read the complete review

One of major gripes about living in the UK, is the ridiculous cost of travel to use public transport to get such a small difference. Petrol costs twice as much as in the USA, yet still most of the time if there's 2 of you travelling anywhere its cheaper to just go buy car. Thankfully in recent years, someone has realised there is a gap ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Megabus: Value for money bus tickets (295 words)

Megabus is the bus and coach company operating throughout the UK and in the United States midwest region. It now serves over 40 towns and cities throughout the UK. The bus fares starts from as low as a pound but it has to be booked very well in advance. When I had to go to London for a course, I had everything planned 2 months before, so ...  Read the complete review

I quite regularly use the megabus service between London and Leeds, although I have noticed that recently they've started going directly to York, with a train going as far as East Midlands parkway, then a connecting bus to York. I've never had any major problems with megabus, the first time I used this company, the stop was a bit of a ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Megabus
by Paul - written on 16/06/09
Rating:

I decided to try to save money by taking megabus for a return from Manchester to London. On both journeys, the bus was hours late - a fact which did not bother any megabus member of staff in the slightest and no sign of apology or regret was forthcoming. When asked about when the bus in question was arriving, I was told "we have no idea." On the journey down, the toilet was clearly not adequately cleaned as the whole bus stank of it. On the way back, instead of a coach, they sent a normal 'magic bus' (two hours later I might add) from the streets of Manchester. This bus had no toilets or luggage hold and the seats were ill designed for long journeys, with nowhere to rest your head. I would pay the extra few pounds and travel National Express next time.

I have used megabus a number of times over the past 5 years but most recently in october of 2008 although the service has been fairly consistent so I would imagine it is similar now. I have only used the Megabus once but it was a very pleasurable experience. Right from the booking on there easy to use website right the way through to getting to my destination it was just like travelling on transport costing 20 times more. I only booked my ticket from Swindon to London 2 days before I travelled so you can imagine how ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Megabus
by Nick - written on 25/05/09
Rating:

We travelled from Coventry to London. The coach was clean, tidy, on time and arrived early.

I can't expect any more for what I paid and would rate them highly. I prefer to use them because they don't pick up from coventry city centre but from cannon park, canley where you can park you car for free nearby.

Certainly use them again.

I've been riding megabus for 5 years as I was a student from Inverness studying in Glasgow. The Megabus is a brilliant cheap way to travel to London and major cities in Britain. The prices start at one pound a seat per journey plus a booking fee of 50p. You have to book on the internet and then either print off your tickets or get them text to your mobile for an extra charge. Then you just show the ticket number to the driver at the pick ...  Read the complete review

I recently planned a mini-break over the Christmas period to Oxford to revisit the dreaming spires that had played such a prominent role during my formative years as a young man. Never riding Megabus again (149 words)

I've rode the Megabus twice from Minneapolis to Milwaukee and both times were awful. The bus was over an hour late the first time (while waiting in below 0 temp) and the second time they left 30 people on the side of the road since it was already full. They did send an overflow bus after we all put our bags in front of the bus to prevent it from ...  Read the complete review

I live near Newcastle Upon Tyne and I often go to London to visit relatives, friends or to see a show. I have used every transport available to get there: train, plane, car and finally bus. Any looming trip I want to take is always the same. I am initially excited after trawling the internet for the cheapest way to get somewhere, inevitably ending with, "Oh my god!
