National Express Coaches run on a regular basis from my nearest town into London...

I came across their 'funfares' when I received my weekly email alert from Martin Lewis as they were advertising them for a £1.00. As we were planning a trip to London in the following 2 months I checked out the website and managed to get 2 return tickets for a total cost of £12.00 which worked out at £3.00 each way..

The journey itself was 2 hours 45 minutes so it is 1hour 45 minutes longer than the train but at a fraction of the price... We were going to an exhibition and we were due in at 10:30am. Unfortunately we got stuck in traffic due to an accident, however the driver phoned ahead and arranged that he didn't have to do a pick up on the way so we did actually get in on time, despite being stuck in the traffic for 30 minutes...

We were due to leave at 6:30pm and when we got to Victoria they did have several of the coaches bumper to bumper with several buses leaving from the same bay so it did get a bit confusing when they opened the bay doors, but we just walked down the side until we found our bus... and again it left on the dot and we managed to get back on time too...

The coach itself seemed clean enough. It certainly wasn't full and we sat down the front there and back so we got a good view on the journey and I love London at night so it was enjoyable coming back too looking at all the sights lit up at night..

I didn't use the toilets on board so I can't comment on these... The drivers seemed a bit grumpy if I'm honest but they drove safely enough and I didn't feel that they took any risks.. It did get a bit chilly on the way home as the driver had his window open but I just snuggled up to the other half!
