Advantages: Cheaper fares and avoid queuing

I only visit London maybe twice a year and a couple of years ago I discovered these Oyster Cards while browsing the London Transport site for information. The chance to save some money on fares and, even better, avoid having to queue to purchase a ticket; I had a bad experience a few years back trying to take the tube from Picadilly on a Saturday just before Christmas, wot a nightmare!!!
For these very good reasons I am now armed with my Oyster Card which I top up online before travelling, the automatic top ups are not attractive to me as my visits are too short, usually 4 days max. Wot a difference!!! Tube and bus travel is made so much more convenient and I like the way to card automatically caps my maximum fare spent per day to £6, I think.
Bus jouney times must be reduced as result which can't be bad as I noticed when I was last in London that few people, if any, were offering cash for fares; all seemed to have a card or prepaid ticket of some sort.
And the tfl.gov.uk site works well, you can check your journey history, see what cash is available and, of course, top up for another visit. Plus the card is not exclusive to one person, my son is off to London this week with my card and a Tube map. Don't go without the essential Oyster Card on your next visit to London. Oh, I forgot to mention your can order your card online too and they are delivered promptly.

Summary: Oyster for the London Visitor
