Advantages: Fabulous location to arrive and depart from, great shopping facilities

Disadvantages: Queues from the Ladies toilets

St. Pancras is what arriving is all about - well done to those developer guys as we emerged off the train and headed towards the Arcade the words "wow" came from my daughter (6) followed by "this is amazing." We have been here before but this is the magnetude that arriving here has.

Incidently we travelled here from the newly opened East Midlands Parkway (end of A50 by M1 - down the A453 by the Ratcliffe cooling towers) only 1 and a half hours journey time.

St. Pancras is well known now as the new portal for the Eurostar - I personally haven't been through there yet but can imagine it might conjure the same response. What do I like - well this is a new vibrant environment that enhances travelling by train, equally important is the fact the there is a mini Hamleys and a Foyles (bookshop) so you can while away that half hour before your train leaves with your children and indeed my daughter lays down visiting these on the return journey as a pre-requisite. Other shops abound too such as a Boots - incase you need to pick up any forgotton toilettries before jumping on the Eurostar and there is also an M&S Simply Food with a good selection that might be more appealing than the limited range available from train buffet cars.

Toilet facilities - one day someone may be able to resolve the queue out of the ladies issue - but even at St. Pancras this can be issue I see.

Something that has changed since I last visited in March 2009 is that in order to get from the train platform to the station and vice versa you need your train ticket which has to be passed through a ticket reader to operate a gate (just like those on the tube) - so don't ditch your tickets in the train bins as you will need them.

There isn't much seating - I think the idea is you launch into one of the cafes / bars - I've leave than one to your own choice.

Summary: St. Pancras has become a pivotal part of visiting London
