Let me explain the reason for this review. I have spent the last two days commuting in to Waterloo, London, on the train, in rush hour. My trip consisted of 2 train changes, I travelled over ground on First Capital Connect trains in to St Pancras/Kings Cross, I got the train at 08:37am, not even mid-rush hour. My ticket cost £20 each day, to allow me on the over ground train in to London and then on the underground to Waterloo. The Overground. Well, it's finally happened - I have given in and written a trains review! I tried not to, but it just sneaks up on you - one minute you're submitting a steam railway review, the next you're looking round the 'transport' section for new ideas....well, maybe I just need to get it out of my system! Still, where to start? 'Trains in general' is a bit, well, general, and the only other submission in this category was about trainspotters. Hmmm. I will leave the original opinion intact but I want to declare I had a magnificent moment of clarity two days ago and hence have dramatically altered my opinion of railfans. I am leaving my original rubbish in place so that people can see the magnitude of my metamorphisis. 7.8.01. I was going down teh road fighting my freight (10,325 Tonnes and just 6300 Feet of train). I am coming across a diamond (Diamonds are great spots for rail fans as you get to see two railways worth of traffic in one spot).
