The price for a return would be £20 at the weekend. This wasn’t too bad I thought, but she mentioned that I would have to book in advance to get this price, as it was limited. Well thank you Maggie Thatcher for revolutionising Britain’s public transport system all those years ago. (sarcastic tone) It’s not very often I travel by train and to be honest my experiences of said transport in recent years have been far from glorious. Thanks to privatisation you now have a scenario where different companies run different parts of the rail network. As a result we have differing services, crap pricing and crap service. A week ago I phoned rail enquiries to enquire about the cost of a ticket from Norwich to London.
