      We travel at least twice a year to and from Gatwick. Since discovering Tudor Rose 5 years ago, we haven't booked in the Gatwick Parking terminals or bothered to find anywhere else to park.We have 2 children that travel with us, and for the peace of mind, welcome and hassle-free experiences that we have encountered we will always use this Company.We have never had a problem, the staff are curteous and polite, and knowing someone will be there waiting for you with your car after you have rang at the specified time beforehand, is a luxury.The prices are reasonable and our car has never been damaged!!As well as that we regularly stay in their lodge (Hookwood) when we have a very early morning flight. Again, would highly recommend as really can't fault it!! Well done Tudor Rose!

      We used Tudor Rose as they offered a reasonable rate for collecting and returning our car at Gatwick. We were a little wary having read some of the reviews, but I can only say that our experience with them was flawless!We rang nearing Gatwick and there he was, waiting for us. He took photos of our car on collection and we were most impressed with the attention to detail.On our return we 'phone as we were going through Customs and were amazed that there he was again, with our beautiful car, all ready for our journey home, just as we left it.Thank you Tudor Rose, it makes such a difference not standing in queues in cold, windy car parks waiting for buses.

      I have used Tudor Rose many times over the years for Valet Parking at Gatwick and they have always been reliable and punctual. My last experience inspired me to write this review - travelling back on a late flight into Gatwick at mindight on a Sunday evening I rung and was told that the car had a flat tyre (which was our fault & due to a slow puncture). The staff however offered to inflate and made sure that it was safe for my onward journey home. (with no fuss and no cost). I found it refreshing to have good service and I am grateful to them for their considerartion.

      I booked with Tudor Rose as they came out cheapest on the comparison sites and the service included the car being at the terminal on return. As we're coming back from holiday just after midnight on Christmas Day, this appeared to be a good deal overall. However, 8 days after booking, I received a poorly written email stating that there would be an extra £10 charge because we returned on Christmas Day. I phoned Tudor Rose and requested a refund, as this extra charge is not advertised on the website or during the booking process. Tudor Rose have refunded most of the cost, but not the credit card fee - even though they've mis-sold this service. Very disappointing experience overall. I've booked with a more reputable parking provider now.

      Please be aware that If any damage is has been sustained to your vehicle whilst in Tudor Rose's care, they will deny any wrong doing and leave the repair to you.

      After recently purchasing a new car, which was cleaned and polished the day before travelling to Gatwick. I was horrified to notice a rather large scratch the the rear bumper on collection which definatly wasn't there when I cleaned it. I informed the collection driver of this damage and took photo's as evidence. After sending this information to Tudor Rose, they responded by being as slippery as an eel in getting out of any liability to my vehicle, with what seemed a very well rehearsed responce (seems to me that they have done this before).

      Good service as long as you dont sustain any damage, othererwise it will cost you alot more than their parking fee!

      Only use this service if you have a car that you don't mind being damaged.

      Great value valet parking with friendly staff.

      We used Tudor Rose from 1st Jan - 9th Jan 2011.
      On arriving at the car park we were greeted by a driver who quickly checked the car and then asked my husband to sign the paperwork. We did not pay for a full inspection as we took our old family car which has plenty of bumps and scrathes anyway.
      The driver then jumped in the drivers seat and drove us to the airport. We arrived at the airport and the driver made sure we had all our belongings before driving off in our car (if I had not read previous reviews I may have been very aprehensive at this point) ;-)
      On our arrival home we called the number we were given by Tudor Rose once we had our cases. By the time we had found the place where we had been dropped off (that was fun and games since neither of us could remeber exactly how to get there!!) our car was waiting for us.
      We were able to jump staight in and drive home with no waiting around for airport buses and the fun of remembering where you have parked the car.
      We will be using Tudor Rose again. The parking and a hotel room within airport grounds cost less than a week in an airport carpark, and much less stressful.
      They will even give your car a full valet at a good price whilst you are away.

      Our initial airport drop off time of 07.30 became 08.15 due to traffic delays, we kept Tudor Rose informed and they were fine about it and just told us to call when we were 10 mins from the terminal. Within one minute of our arrival their driver appeared, he was cheerful and courteous, he confirmed the cars mileage and asked if we had *ALL we needed from the car *(more about this later) , within another minute we were inside the terminal and on our way.

      Following the instructions given, on our return we called the number provided when we had collected our baggage, by the time we exited the terminal our car was there waiting for us. Just as with our arrival within a minute we were on our way.

      In summary, I would say we received the service we were promised at a price we were happy to pay in comparison to Park Your own costs. It was so nice get from the car to inside the terminal and vice versa within 2 minutes. On some occasions when we have used car parks, on or off site, from actually arriving at the car park to actually getting to the terminal has been up to 45 mins.

      The above review was not influenced by following;

      * Our flight was due to take off at 09.50. Having passed through passport control at about 09.00 I decided to get a paper and some water etc for the flight before making our way to the departure gate. I then realise I cant find my wallet, panic insues, it contained almost £600, mostly foreign currency for our holiday and a little sterling + plus cards etc. I phoned Tudor Parking to see if they could check the car, after a few minutes they confirmed that they had found it. I'm sure it will suffice to say that I had my wallet in my hand by 09.30, they having to bring right in to passport control as I was not allowed to go back through. After a frantic dash to a distant gate we made it just before the gate closed.

      We have used Tudor Rose for about 10 years now and recently used the meet and greet service which works very well. This time, however, when I got home we discovered that the rear bumper had been damaged and immediately contacted the company sending photographs identifying the damage. My car is parked in such a way that the rear bumper is the first thing that you see each day as you leave the house and on the morning of departure we were in and out the house loading up the car and there is no way any rear damage would not have been spotted. Tudor Rose have not accepted any responsibility despite more photographs and e-mails and instead suggested that next time we should pay to have the car inspected. Why should you pay - I expect them to take care so there will be no next time.

      The way to park at the airport

      For me, the most stressful part of any overseas holiday is the departure day. Last minute checking of luggage and tickets is generally followed by a stressed drive to the airport, either leaving far too early and not hitting any traffic or far too late and getting stuck half a mile from home. Then there is the question of where to park the car. Do you opt for an all singing, all dancing high security car park that will cost you twice as much as your two week trip to the Med, or do you opt for off-site car parking with a bus transfer that requires you to leave at least 1 hour earlier than is necessary in order to make the transfer?

      Neither.

      You get someone else to drive you the last little bit to the airport, you unload your luggage and they drive off with your car. On your return you call a dedicated phone line and ten minutes later you are in your own car and on your way home.

      Sounds expensive.

      That’s where you are wrong.

      Tudor Rose is one of its kind. It combines the cost effectiveness of off-site car parking with the convenience of a chauffeur service. There are effectively two variations on a theme offered by Tudor Rose. The first involves you driving to their car park just 4 minutes from the Gatwick Terminals, having your car checked over and then picking up a driver who drives you to the airport, sets you down with your luggage and then drives your car back to the car park. The second variation involves you driving directly to the arrivals section of the terminals and, having made a call to Tudor Rose about 10 minutes before you are due to arrive, you meet a man in a red cap who checks your car and drives off with it! When you return at the end of your holiday in both cases you call Tudor Rose when you get to baggage reclaim and they will meet you with your car at a pre-agreed place. If you had a driver to the airport then you must drive home via the car-park. If you met your driver at the airport then you are simply free to go home!

      My own preference is for the car park to car park service. Parking restrictions being what they are around the airport I would worry that the red-capped man might be delayed leaving you fending off the parking wardens whilst worrying that you haven’t got enough time to check in. You also don’t have to pre-empt your arrival at the airport. Having said that, I don’t have first hand experience of this service and so can only really comment on the car park to car park service.

      Upon arrival at the Tudor Rose car park if you are so inclined you can have your car inspected by staff and any dents, scratches or other miscellaneous damage is noted. This means that you have a point of reference in the event that anything untoward should happen to your car whilst you are away. Rather surprisingly though there is a cost attached to this - £5. Whether you wish to have peace of mind for £5 is debatable. If you have fully comprehensive insurance then I suspect that it probably doesn’t matter. If you don’t then you might like to consider it, although it would be nice if it were included (as would be the case if you were hiring a car).

      Unless you have hit a busy period or want to arrange extra services, five minutes in the car park is all that is required before you will be on your way again with a Tudor Rose driver behind the wheel. He’ll drive you to the airport, help you unload your baggage and then drive off with your pride and joy…. Will you see it again?!

      There’s a certain amount of trust in operation here and the first time we used the service my heart was in my throat as I watched the car disappear around the corner… was this such a bright idea?

      Upon your return to the UK a quick call to Tudor Rose as you are going through baggage reclaim will ensure that your car will pick you up again from where you were dropped off. Again, at busy times you might be advised of a slight delay but to date I have never experienced one. The driver will drive back to the car park and hand the car back to you (if you’ve paid for an inspection then there’ll be another one at this point to confirm any issues).

      Whilst you are away your car will be parked outside (as is the case with many of the off-site long-term car parks) unless you pay extra for the “gold service” in which case your car will be parked under cover (and you will get the inspection included “free of charge”). Again, I’m not really fussed whether my car is under cover or out in the open and, in any event, your windows should be cleaned before you receive your car back so it’s not a problem.

      In addition to the basic service whilst you are away Tudor Rose will, at extra cost, arrange to valet your car or even arrange for minor repairs to be carried out. They claim that all reasonable requests will be considered and, having experienced the service, would imagine that they will do so.

      Each time that we have used the service we have been impressed. We have experienced the service in the early hours of the morning, late at night and during the day and on each occasion we could not have wanted for better, more stress-free service.

      Tudor Rose has clearly grown in popularity as they have recently acquired a larger site and more drivers. Time will tell whether they an continue to offer the individual service which has people coming back time after time. We have heard a couple reports of engaged phones and slightly longer waits than normal since the changes which probably reinforces our preference for the car-park to car-park service rather than terminal service. In any event, the whole process is probably far more stress-free than parking in a standard off-site car park and waiting for that bus which you have invariably missed and then struggling on with your luggage.

      Once booked you are guaranteed a parking space and can make amendments up to 24 hours before your departure for free and cancellations up to 48 hours before departure for just £10. You can even have your car transferred to another airport if you fly out of one and return to another – now that’s service!

      I said at the beginning that this was not an expensive service. Pricing certainly compares very favourably to other off-site parking arrangements and, to my mind, where it is slightly more expensive, the price is justified. Daily rates run at around £5 per day off-peak rising to £6.50 per day for peak stays of less than 8 days. There is a minimum charge of £30. If you drive a large car (4x4 or MPV) then you’ll be charged an additional £5 due to the extra space you’ll be taking up. Sounds fair to me.

      All in all I would thoroughly recommend this service. It is absolutely ideal if you have a lot of luggage or old or young members of your party for whom a bus trip would just prove too much. It’s also great for not hanging around and for making you feel just that little bit special at the start and end of your holiday.

        The best value for money parking at Gatwick

        Living in the South as we do, when we go on holiday we will fly from one of London's airports and 9 times out 10 that will be from Gatwick. Although we could get there by public transport, the sheer quantity of luggage we often take with us make this an impractical option, especially when we go skiing. The only real possibility is to drive there, but what to do with the car whilst we are away?

        In the past we have used the Long Term parking facilities at the Airport, run by NCP and Parking Express. Although convenient, these options are quite expensive, especially when you are away for more than a week and in fact, even these options do have inconveniences of their own.

        When you arrive at the airport you either drive up to Departures and unload the luggage there, leaving it with a travelling companion whilst you go and park the car and return on the coach or else you park first, unload the luggage and transfer it with yourself to the coach for the ride back to the terminal before transferring it once again onto a trolley.

        What we would prefer would be a location as convenient as the on-site parking but for a better price and without the inconveniences associated with the luggage.

        A colleague at work told me about an off-site car park called Tudor Rose. I have looked at these sort of car parks in the past and although they do offer cost savings it's usually at the expense of some considerable travel from car park to airport and still with the problem of transferring luggage.

        Tudor Rose is close to Gatwick, located behind the ESSO petrol station on London Road in Crawley. This is just a few minutes from the airport. Their site is just rough ground so in bad weather it does get in a bit of a state. It is, however, secure. The park is fenced and gated for protection.

        The big advantage is that there is not requirement to transfer to a coach for the ride to the airport. You arrive at the park, sign in, have your car checked and then one of their drivers drive you and your car and luggage to the airport. There you unload the luggage as you otherwise in any case would and then he drives your car back to the car park.

        When you return from holiday you ring one of two numbers, according to whether you are returning during the day or at night, to let them know you have arrived. They ask you to clear Customs before doing this as otherwise you may be delayed and, of course, they can't wait indefinitely in the pickup/dropoff lane.

        Within a few minutes they drive up with your car and you load your luggage. All they ask is that you drop them off back at the car park before going on your way. Sometimes, especially if a number of their customers have arrived back at the same time, they may have to collect you in their minibus.

        Whilst you are away they can offer an additional service to valet your car so that is bright and clean for your return. This is, of course, at additional cost. A typical charge for one week is £36. For an additional £2.50 per day they offer under-cover parking plus a guarantee that you won't have to use the minibus on return. For a similar stay, NCP and Parking Express charge £60.

        I've always been very happy with their service. On one occasion they even enabled me to have work done on my car whilst I was away. I arranged with them for a garage to collect, complete the work and return the car in time for our return.

        Tudor Rose has now moved its car park to a different location. Since that time it are now operates a "Meet & Greet" service at no additional cost. Instead of driving to the car park you now drive straight to the airport. On your way you call them (Hands Free of course!!!) and let them know that you are soon to arrive.

        They recommend that you call them shortly before Junction 9 on the M23. I would recommend that you call them just after turning off of the M25. We tried calling their number several times but it was continually engaged so we were actually at the airport before we managed to get through.

        You drive to Arrivals rather than Departures. You are met by a Tudor Rose driver in a very fetching red baseball cap, or you are supposed to. If they are late arriving, as in our case because we couldn't get through, you will have a problem. The Gatwick Traffic Wardens are just about the most officious I have ever met. If you aren't unloaded and on your way in seconds they are threatening you with a parking fine. I had to drive round and round the airport several times until the driver arrived!

        Nevertheless, when working properly the system is perfect. The best just keeps getting better!
