Advantages: convinient, relaible
Disadvantages: expensive
I think I am lucky to be in London. It is multicultured and people are very nice. The travel system dates back about 100years ago ever since it is been improving. The tubes and buses litrelly run the city. Average 7 in 10 Londoners use public transport.
Even though its expensive, tubes are very convinient and easiest way to travel around the city. The 'Transport for London' (TFL) who runs the trains and busses around the city have been appointed by the mayor of London to manage the transport service.
There is just a station about 5 minutes walk from my house and it holds the Bakerloo line which can take me all the way to central London in 20 minutes. How easier it can get? There are currently 12 lines served by transport of london. These are as follows:
Bakerloo
Central
Circle
District
East London
Hammersmith & City
Jubilee
Metropolitan
Northern
Piccadilly
Victoria
Waterloo and City
The intresting thing about the tube is all these lines eventually pass through cental london and hence it can be seen that the tube is concentrated on taking visitors and travellors to Central. The condition of all the stations is very well and are kept tidy by cleaners who work in shifts. There is an assistant available on every stations in case of you getting lost. Today, there are CCTV available on every station as well as on every trains. These is followed by continuous patrolling of London Transport Police.
So overall we Londoners are very thankful to have such a wonderful transport system in the capital.
Summary: Public transport is better than driving, specially in London

- 18/12/08 I find London to be so busy, with people always having to be someplace, and the tube is a major part of that. |
