Advantages: NONE

Disadvantages: ITS TO HOT

I would like to give my opinion on the recent rise in tempretures and how they are affecting the undergroung system in London.
I work for london underground and since the tempretures have risen they have risen even more underground.
The tempratures on the trains are horrendous.
And it's not much cooler in the tunnels or on the platforms.
I personally believe that on days like today it's just to hot on the system to be ferrying people around and if a train has a problem like at Highbury yesterday where people were stuck on a train for 1 hour and 20mins and collapsing and fainting it is extremely dangerous.

Unfortunatly we do not have the funding needed to get a cooling systenm on the underground and i can't see Mr Blair agreeing to paying for it so it looks like we just have to bear it.

I have to appeal to people to try and stay calm when you see staff at the other end of your journey as it's not our fault we suffer as well as we have to during peak hours spend anything up to three hours on the platform and believe me we get hot and the only trousers we are supplied with are wool and lined.

We do understand how people feel and do take insults etc witha pinch of salt but please spare a thought for us it's not our fault and if we can help in anyway we would.

I'm glad I'm not in your job! It's years since I've used the underground regularly, but I do remember what hell it could be on hot days.
