I have used virgin trains a few times on the journey from york to newcastle and vice versa, maybe i was lucky, but each time the train was very punctual, one time it was 5 minutes late,which isnt too bad, and the driver told us over the tannoy at each station how he had made up 1 minute, and we would be getting to our destination right on time, he seemed so proud that he was making time up,was he jumping red lights or speeding to do it? you never know.
On each journey i made everytime i got on and went to my seat there was some people ( usually students and the likes) already in it, which was a little annoying, i mean i know people have unreserved seats, but cant they check on the tag on top of the seat when that person will be getting on? or is it too much trouble?
i just couldnt belllieeeevve it. i mean some times the trains were only a quarter full, but oh yes they were in my seat!! and yes i was in the right carriage!
also virgin carriages must have transported queen victoria around, talk about old, but they are clean, maybe i am used to french railways but i felt seasick all the rocking around the carriages do when its going " fast" 100mph is not fast when u have used the french TGV.300km is fast!
But at least the ticket inspecters are nice with a nice happy smile .... or is it a grimice?
one good thing about virgin is value for money, you can get some real bargins especially if you book on line.
