Mostly good, but going downhill? (Waterloo Station)
Member Name: dcmbarton
Advantages: Generally well kept and informative Disadvantages: Toilets not well maintained and a lot boarded up since the closure of the international terminal I have always found the station at London Waterloo to be efficient and well kept; however, on the last few visits during the previous six months, it does seem to have gone downhill somewhat. There is a charge to use the toilet and washing facilities; whilst I don't mind paying, I do expect them to be clean and well-maintained and this no longer seems to be the case. Since the closure of the Waterloo International terminal, a lot of the station is now boarded up and looks rather run down. On the upside, the staff are helpful and the station is generally well signed. There is easy access to public transport and a plentiful supply of taxis on the rank. There is a good and varied selection of shops on the station and there is also a very good amount of information about train services and other transport links in and around London. Summary: Generally, it has everything you'd want whether you are stopping or passing through |
