Boots Travel Pillow
by Whizz11
We travel quite a bit, be it on a plane or in the car and for longer journeys I like to take a travel pillow with me. I generally use this on a plane more than I would in a car but sometimes it is nice in a car. What I hate about taking a nap in the car (and I do it quite often at the moment now that I am breastfeeding in the middle of ... the night) is that the headrest is never in the right place, even if you attempt to move it and so when you wake up you always have a really sore neck and your husband telling you that your head was bobbing backwards and forwards the whole time you were asleep. With this travel pillow there is no crooked neck and all you have is a nice fresh feeling after a little power nap in the car.
According to the packaging this Boots travel pillow has been designed for comfort whilst travelling & to support the head whilst sleeping upright. The pillow is pretty basic, its not a nice soft, feather filled pillow, its use a blow up pillow but it gives you a bit of comfort and supports your neck which is the main thing. The pillow is a blow up pillow so when it is deflated it packs up quite small and can be stored in a little travel pouch that comes with it. It's easy to blow up and you don't need a pump to do it, you can just use your mouth to do it. Once you have finished blowing it up you can Push the valve back into the plastic holder inside the pillow so it is not uncomfortable when you rest on it.
The pillow wraps all he way around your neck and because it is quite tight it will stay there when you move so you can rest your neck behind you or to either side. Its not so tight though that its suffocating or anything like that. The pillow is black and is plastic although it has a velour material on it to make it more comfortable which it is. The only thing I would say is that its a bit scratchy on the seams but you can just reposition it and it should not bother you.
Obviously you can't wash this, you just need to wipe it clean with a damp cloth or I find a baby wipe works quite well although saying that it doesn't really get that dirty.
The pillow is available at Boots in their travel section and costs just £5.99. Read the complete review |

Eoco Cushtie

*The Cushtie*
I love going on holiday but hate having to sit on a plane for long periods of time. I find the headrests rather uncomfortable and usually end up annoying the person next to me by leaning on their shoulder!
I bought the Cushtie pillow before a long journey overseas and found it extremely comfortable and ... extremely handy. I used it on the coach, on the plane and even in the hotel to pump up the pathetically thin pillow in the hotel room. It is light enough to travel around comfortably and does not take up too much room. I find the pillow really soft and comfortable. The micro bead filling is fantastic and moulds to the side of my head, is much nicer to lay my head on than an inflatable one. The micro bead filling is great as after as few plumps always comes back bouncy and in shape, it is a little noisy when you move though and the beads rearrange themselves. Micro beads are another term for spongy polystyrene micro-granules. These are fantastically soft and make the pillow very huggable! The dimensions of the pillow are 39cm x 24cm.
There are plenty of colours to choose from and you can even get them with different prints on, so whatever your taste there is usually a design to suit you! The pillow comes in a plastic case with a zip and I have kept this for camping, you never know when you may need a waterproof cover. It will keep the pillow dry from light rain but nothing heavier than that.
I use the pillow regularly, you could even a few of them on your bed if you wanted but I mainly use mine for travel. When my boyfriend broke his arm, he used the Cushtie as a support cushion. It allowed his arm to be supported but without being too hard and offering too much resistance. He simply held the pillow on his lap and used it to hold his arm. He could have used any other pillow, but the cushtie was small and could tuck right under his arm.
*Price*
I paid £13.99 from the online store Amazon but it could be available cheaper elsewhere.
*Overall*
The Cushtie is great to have around the home and great for taking away with you. It is soft and always plump, you can even wash them. I machine washed mine after a drink was spilled on it and it came out of the wash fine! Read the complete review |

Eoco Cushtie
by headsore
We each have a Cushtie in our house - so that's three. Me and the little lad have a blue one each and the other half has a pink one. They cost us £10 each from Debenhams and we have had them now for around a year. We bought them for different reasons - we do a lot of travelling around in the car as a family and usually the little lad and ... the other half will fall asleep during the journey and they use theirs as pillows. I use mine mainly for when I am watching the telly at night as I find our cushions are bit too big and uncomfortable and I like to place this behind my back as it is really comforting for my bad back.
The Cushtie is long and sausage shaped and measures about 40cm x 65cm though I have never measured it and this is just and educated guess. You cannot wah the Cushtie and the little lad's does look a bit grubby now but we try to clean the outer cover but we have not had much success as the dirt does not want to come off. What we love about our Cushtie cushions is the fact that no matter how much yu actually bash it about or bend it or pull it, it will always go back into its original position and it is so very comfortable.
It is great because it moulds to the shape of your body and no matter how you squash it it will just come back to its original shape when you stop leaning on it. It is filled with tiny little granules and this is probably the only downside for me because if you get to a quiet part in a film and then you move position, you can hear all the little granules inside the cushion moving about and it can be very distracting, especially if it is not you who is moving about, but the person who you are sitting next to and they are a fidgety person.
Overall we are very pleased with our Cushtie's and the little lad even takes his to bed with him sometimes as a sort of comforter - which is probably why it is so dirty.
Great product and recommended.
