Design Go DG233 Duo Adaptor is one of the adapters I have got for my electrical equipment when I travel abroad in Europe. It cost me £8.20 from an electrical shop in the airport (I can't remember which one!) which is probably a little more than I would normally spend on an adapter. However, the thing that was different for me about this adapter was the fact that it has two sockets, allowing you to plug in two plugs into the adapter at any time. All of the other adapters I have (and I have many!) only allow one plug at a time and so this made things a lot easier for me and means I have to only take one product away with me at a time. It worked well for me, with a snug fit into the european wall socket and doesn't fall out inadvertently, unlike some other adapters I have used in my time!
This adapter also has a little blue night light on top of it, which is not particularly bright and so it doesn't interfere with my ability to sleep, but it does make it easier to have a little light in the room at night when you're in a strange unfamiliar room, particularly when I need to get up to go to the loo in the middle of the night.
I think this is a good decent product and I recommend it.
Most of my travel lately has been within the Uk, but when I do venture into Europe I always pack a travel adaptor. The Duo Adaptor from Design Go is a travel adaptor for use with Euro sockets. Hotels in general are usually lacking in the plug socket department, so this Duo Adaptor is such a handy gadget to have when travelling in Europe.
This product is available on the Design Go website (www.design-go.com) along with a huge range of other useful travel accessories. Priced at under £10 online it is a reasonably affordable accessory and as far as I am concerned it is a must-have product when I travel.
Aswell as having the dual socket this adaptor also has a nightlight which is the turquoise coloured panel on the top edge of the unit. Unfortunately this isn't controlled and is always on when the adaptor is plugged in. I use the adaptor a lot during the night for charging mobile phones and laptops during my holidays, so I usually cover it with a towel or bag depending on where the plug socket is located.
The light can be useful, but it would be a nicer feature if it had a switch on it. At under a tenner you can't really complain, but the design isn't perfect. That said, I find the idea to be very handy as often these Euro socket adaptors have just a single plug on them.
If you travel around Europe a lot then a dual adaptor is a must and with technology becoming more a part of our holidays (mp3 players, digital cameras etc.) we have a thirst for plug sockets whilst away from home. Don't spend your break juggling power cables and instead lay back and relax as you have twice as many sockets as you did before - if the nightlight doesn't keep you awake.
A few years ago I was at the airport ready to go on holiday when a quick trip into Dixons at Gatwick Airport reminded me that I had forgot to pack travel adaptors!
I was looking at all the standard travel european travel adaptors when the Design Go travel adaptor caught my eye.
Unlike the others this travel adaptor has 2 sockets which is great, as I have found that a lot of hotels in Europe do not seem to have a large number of sockets available in the room.
I payed around £10 for the product which considering I was getting two sockets for my money at airport prices was quite a good deal.
I am sure that this product can be found more cheaply on the internet. The Design Go website, for example, currently sells them for £8.99 (http://www.design-go.com/en/detail_38757.html)
What is more, the product features a built in blue/green night light on the top - I have found this annoying at night sometimes though, as it can be quite bright if you have it by your bedside.
For those people who travel to the US there is also another version available with a green night light on the top:
~ Verdict ~
If you travel a lot and are willing to pay a bit more for this innovative product then I would definitely recommend it. Over the past few years I have received many positive comments when people have seen the adaptor. Furthermore, the fact that DesignGo still sells this product must be positive. This is a plug adaptor like no other - Great for every traveller!
