I got bought one of these when going on a long coach trip and I would say these really do help you neck stay comfortable! If I didn't have one of these when falling asleep or even just sitting up on that long coach journey my neck would of been so uncomfortable and aching so I give it to this travel pillow for making my journey as comfortable as possible. I even use it when im sleeping in my own bed at home.I would recommend this to anyone on long flights/coach drives or even sitting in your car and also anyone who suffers with such horrible neck pains.
I bought this pillow when I was traveling on a long-haul flight following back surgery to decompress a lumber disk. I was nervous about being able to remain comfortable and pain free for the flight given my spinal problems, and so I kind of bought this on a whim to try to aid my comfort.
I've had travel pillows before, and I've always found them quite bulky before behind my head, but the fact that this pillow is made of the Tempur materials seems to make all of the difference. Tempur is renowned for having special memory foam which reduces pressure on key areas of the body by moulding the material to the shape of your body. Therefore, when I popped this pillow behind my neck, after a minute or so of shuffling around to get it in the right position for me, it remained that way. Also, like other travel pillows, the Tempur material seems breathable so that you're not left feeling hot and unpleasant.
The outside cover is washable - and seems pretty durable. However, unlike other travel pillows I've used, it does not have a clip that you can use to clip it to hand luggage, and as its pretty bulky, its not the easiest thing to pack with you're not using it as it doesn't squish down very small.
While you can get other travel neck pillows for less money, this does do the job - if you don't mind the inconvenience of carrying it around at the airport!
TEMPUR products have the unique 'memory foam' pressure relieving properties that provide support for your whole body while moulding to your body's shape to give you the most comfortable nights sleep. The mattresses are believed to relieve conditions such as headache/stiff neck, fibrositis, arm, back, hip, knee pain and sciatica problems.
The travel pillow is made from the same material and is shaped like a chunky horseshoe. This shape cradles the neck and holds the pillow in place. The removable washable cover is blue with a small tempur label on the side, and measurements are 30 x 28 x 8.
The travel pillow can be used whenever you are travelling or need extra neck support. You could have it in the car, on a long bus or train journey or by air if you dont mind the extra carry-on bulk. Many people who have neck issues also use them on a daily basis while sitting at home in a chair or in bed.
The large tempur products are available with a 60-night guarantee, however small products such as the travel pillow are not included in the guarantee offer.
The price of the pillow on the TEMPUR website (www.tempur.co.uk) is £49.95, on Amazon £41.50, but I have seen it cheaper from www.bakersandlarners.co.uk at £39.96.
This seems very expensive for a neck pillow, and I would not buy it if you just fancy neck support on a one off or occasional journey. You can get much cheaper versions. However if you have really bad long-term neck problems it may be worth the expense, as the memory foam will be much more comfortable and it is worth it for a bit more relief from the pain.
Helps ease neck strain when traveling.
