After looking at a few PRE-PAID TRAVEL CARDS , I looked at the American Express one, since my daughter was going to the U.S.A, thought great , i can do it in dollars, But looking at the fees they charge ,they are certainly ripping the people of the U.K. off all other firms charge around £10, but AMERICAN EXPRESS CHARGE £20 now to make matters worse they only charge there own people in the U.S.A $14-95 =£8-50 AND ON THE MAINLAND OF EUROPE our eec. partners are only charged 20 EUROS =£13-50 , After e mailing them for a reason , they can not reply?? so it looks like a money belt, or if you know of a good card ,please let me ...

Below is a letter I have recently written to American Express. I wish to share it with fellow consumers as I cannot begin to comprehend the treatment that I received whilst cashing some vouchers last week. Please note that this review questions the customer services dept and therefore only questions the Manchester branch's customer care policies rather than outlining products and services on offer. I was travelling in Europe last summer covering more than ten countries in a month. One of the important and yet difficult issue to deal with when hopping between so many countries is currency; how much to exchange for each currency and etc. Of course my advice is to exchange at least a small amount of each currency (in cash) before you start to travel. And the remaining amount would best be carried in the form of travellers cheque of your local currency. That way you will not lose in exchange rate should there be extras.
