I was travelling in Europe last summer covering more than ten countries in a month. One of the important and yet difficult issue to deal with when hopping between so many countries is currency; how much to exchange for each currency and etc.

Of course my advice is to exchange at least a small amount of each currency (in cash) before you start to travel. And the remaining amount would best be carried in the form of travellers cheque of your local currency. That way you will not lose in exchange rate should there be extras.

American Express travellers cheque is the best I found so far. Most of the major cities even in Eastern European countries has a branch where you can exchange the travellers cheque to the country's currency with no extra charges. The exchange rate is not bad at all.
